Our Team

Ping Pong Press is two-woman fine art printmaking studio in Cleveland Height’s Coventry Village. Artist/Printmakers Corrie Slawson and Karen D. Beckwith, Tamarind Master Printer made our partnership official in Spring 2018 after having worked together for six years at the Cleveland Institute of Art. The main work table is a Ping Pong table (hence the name) in Corrie’s basement; it is a space conducive to professional art-making that coexists with domestic activities. Ping Pong’s shop boasts a very special 1973 Charles Brand intaglio Press with a solid steel bed, along with full screen printing capabilities with photo-based exposure unit, spray-out booth and over 45 screens on hand. Tamarind Master Printer, Karen, has tested and solidified plate lithography using green techniques.

We are kindred spirits that have developed a shop with less-toxic chemistry and research into alternative print practices. Together, we have spent years developing Green(er) lithography, etching and screen practices. Ping Pong Press is not a publishing house—we are two artist-printers who love to collaborate with other artists (who may or may not be printmakers).
